When it comes to a healthy drink, nothing can compete with water. And in an effort to be more healthy, we make a point of carrying our own water bottle with us everywhere we go.
Here are five of our favourite reasons to drink more water:
1. Make your skin glow.
My Favourite! Our skin is the largest organ in our body. Regular and plentiful water consumption can improve the colour and texture of your skin by keeping it building new cells properly. Drinking water also helps the skin do it's job of regulating the body's temperature through sweating.
2. Flushes Out Toxins
Water is an excellent detoxifier as it helps flush out toxins from your body and get rid of waste primarily through sweat and urine.Water also improves the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. This helps in digestion and prevents constipation. Inadequate water in the body often results in constipation.
3. Water Improves Your Mood
Dehydration is known to contribute to stress. Fatigue, anger, stress, can all increase when you're dehydrated. Stay ahead of stress and sip water throughout the day. Keep a bottle of water with you at all times and drink some every half hour or hour during the day.
4. Water Helps Your Kidneys
Body fluids transport waste products in and out of cells. Your kidneys do an amazing job of cleansing and ridding your body of toxins as long as your intake of fluids is adequate.
5. It helps us think more clearly
Dehydration causes shrinkage of brain tissue. So when we haven’t been drinking enough water, our brains have to work a lot harder to perform at the same level.
