When it comes to better health and glowing skin we can stop looking on the shelves for expensive products that come in plastic bottles - which are usually filled with chemicals and are horribly affecting our planet.

It’s just a matter of getting back to simpler times, slowing it all down and going more natural.

There are many easy ways to start making conscious decisions for our health and our planet. AND, amazing DIY beauty recipes (if you have that time). Your body deserves the best, taking care of your vessel is an incredible act of self-LOVE.

Two natural resources that I totally recommend are:

Living Libations -  helps people reclaim their self-care so that their health and beauty are in their own hands and guided by their own intuition. Living Libations has an amazing line of serums, elixirs and essentials oils for those seeking the purest of the pure botanical health and beauty products on the planet.

Free Plastic Mermaid - Kate is an environmental activist and is changing the world with her plastic free lifestyle. Her easy beauty and hygiene recipes will save you time, money, and prevent plastic packaging from polluting our beautiful planet. She is doing incredible work for our Mumma Earth.

Here I share five daily rituals for glowing skin,

I love a daily sweat! Sweating produces many health benefits including detoxification, improved skin tone, stress relief, and it also helps kill pathogenic bacteria and viruses and it feels so good!

All it takes is 20 minutes to build up a sweat. Walk, run, do a spin class, a yoga practice, whatever works for you.

Steam rooms and saunas are another way to sweat it out, removing toxins and cleansing the body. In terms of reaping the benefits for your skin, the sauna is better for muscle relaxation and lowering blood pressure whereas the steam room will help with overall detoxification of the body.

I am a big fan of making my own smoothies and juices, if you’re heading out for a juice, bring your own smoothie jar from home. No more one use plastics!

A few of my favourite skin glowing ingredients:

•       Carrot Juice - when juicing carrot you can get a concentrated dose of their healing power. A rich source of Vitamin A,  it's packed with antioxidants and essential minerals thereby keeping your skin healthy and young.

•       Cucumber Juice - the high water content in cucumber ensures your body is flushed of all toxins and the skin remains hydrated and glowing.

•       Lemon Juice - a part of our daily glow comes from drinking a glass of lemon juice in warm water every morning. Being a good source of vitamin C, the fruit also repairs the damaged skin cells as well as helps you get rid of fine lines, blemishes and wrinkles.

And of course keep up your water intake. Our skin is the largest organ in our body. Regular and plentiful water consumption can improve the colour and texture of your skin by keeping it building new cells properly. Drinking water also helps the skin do it's job of regulating the body's temperature through sweating.

Dry Body Brushing firms the skin and makes it glow. It will give your skin a brighter, tighter, and more radiant look by increasing the flow of blood to your skin's outer layers. Like any exfoliator, it sloughs away dead, dry surface cells. It removes the dead skin layer and allows the body to breathe, leaving you with smooth and even-toned skin in no time.

This beautiful age old Ayurvedic ritual - Abhyanga - described as a self massaging practice; enhances the complexion and the glow of the skin. It is match made in heaven after dry body brushing as it tones the muscles and acts as a natural moisturiser.

Abhyanga is the anointing of the body with oil. Often infused with herbs and usually warm, the oil is massaged into the entire body before bathing and is one of the most effective ways of slowing down the skin’s ageing process.

There is no greater expression of self-care than lovingly anointing ourselves from head to toe with warm oil.  Abhyanga can give a deep feeling of stability and warmth.

While you're sleeping, the body's hydration rebalances. A good night's sleep can mean good skin health because when you’re sleep-deprived, your body makes more of the stress hormone cortisol. Elevated levels of cortisol can lead to increased stress and inflammation in the body.

Now, of course, I am not a Mumma, so all the parents who’s little darlings are keeping them awake. Sorry, I am sending the sleeping angels you way.

Shine on beauties.

Much Love,

Bec x
